Aaron Shearer Memorial Page

This page is dedicated to the memory of Dr. Aaron Shearer who contributed to the
world of classical guitar.

Aaron Shearer was an American classical guitarist known primarily as a classsical guitar pedagogue.

His former students include Manuel Barrueco, Ricardo Cobo, David Tanenbaum, and David Starobin.
He has been director of the guitar programs at both Peabody Conservatory and North Carolina School of the Arts.
He holds an honorary doctorate from Duquesne University where spent his last years as a professor of guitar .
Shearer has several publications including his well known Classical Guitar Technique method books and will be
missed by the world community of guitarists and guitar educators.
