Most of your students will excel at guitar, but some are going to discover playing the guitar is far harder than imagined and just give up. Don’t let them ruin it for the rest of the class.

Negativity from one or two discouraged students can spread throughout the classroom rather rapidly. Before starting your classroom guitar program, decide the best strategy to deal with it. Have a solution in mind; it is certain to happen.

After just a few weeks in guitar class, some students are going to shut down and quit trying. As their teacher, make a decision to help students be successful in class or let them fail. The latter should not be a conscious decision until every effort to save a student has been exhausted.
